Quarter 1 · Information for families
Our first Q1 assessment is coming up. Every course grade is built from three parts: practice, assessments, and the end of quarter assessment. How much each part counts depends on the level of the course.
| Course level | Practice | Assessments | End of quarter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Foundational | 35% | 45% | 20% |
| Elective / Upper Class | 30% | 45% | 25% |
| AP / Post Graduate | 20% | 50% | 30% |
As courses become more advanced, practice counts for less and assessments count for more. Assessments carry the largest share at every level.
Choose a level to see its weights and the courses that use them.
Four exams are given during the year. Together they make up six equal parts. The Q1 and Q3 exams are 1 part each. The midterm and the final are 2 parts each, so they count double.
Move the sliders to try some scores. The same scores give a slightly different final grade at each level, because each part counts for a different share.
Example scores, not your student's grades
Each final grade is practice, assessments and end of quarter scores multiplied by their weights, then added together.
